The Histories
This exhibit explores encounters in life, both real and imaginary. The paintings in this show compose a group of bold, colorful, symbolic figures expressing the profound experience of humanness and its characteristic vulnerability. Content plays off the artist’s own personal histories layered with influences of surroundings, spiritual dreamscapes, overlays of imagery, and impacting experiences. Rebecca’s paintings are bigger than life. The scale of these large paintings is intended to cause a viewer to participate at a level that is relevant to the idea, the deliberation of its content, the gestural spontaneity, and the scale of large executed art work.
